Fantasy Basketball:
Retro League

Retro hoops is our fantasy sports league that uses non-current NBA players. Our initial season started in November 2002 and used players from the 1959-60 season. We chose to start with that year because it was Wilt Chamberlain's rookie season.

Current season preview:

The King's Crimson Cobras are licking their wounds after losing in the Finals because of a weak bench, especially at point guard. Rottingham had better depth than KCC last season, but now has a huge hole to fill with the retirement of center Bob Pettit. And coach Steve Knowles will make another run at getting his teams into the playoffs yet again; the Indiana Hackers have made the playoffs each season (and already have one title). Sister-team Ahwatukee has made the playoffs 3 out of 4 seasons. Our next season will likely start in early 2009. See you then!

Last season highlights:

Rottingham's Bob Pettit rode off into the sunset by winning a title in his last season. In has last post-season, Pettit averaged 25 pts, 13 rebs and shot 49%/80%. But the playoff MVP was teammate Jerry West: 30.1 pts (53.7% FGs, 80% FTs), 6.7 rebs, 4 assists, 1.6 steals.
